What are we?

Cadence Please Missions is a California non-profit public charity.  This really means two things: (1) all contributions are tax deductible, so that’s nice for all of our partners; and (2) we survive off of many small givings by a whole lot of people.  No contribution is too small or unappreciated.  We have been a public charity since December of 2013, when we embraced the mantra our missions field is where our feet are.  You can read more about the incredible testimony God has given us in the “Our Origins” section.

This ministry began when a few lucky individuals received a front row seat to God’s miracles and provision back in April of 2012.  In an act of obedience and faith, these young adults (and a six month old baby) quit their jobs, left their homes, committed to playing worship music, and answered the call to serve and go everywhere God led them.  Cadence Please followed the model of service and worship God gave them by touring for the benefit of the Kingdom, not themselves.  In December of 2013, the vision for the first Cadence Cottage was born, and the already developing ministry became the non-profit missions organization Cadence Please Missions.  Our ministry goals may have expanded, but our foundation of service remains the same.  The worship team still travels on benefit tours to plant things. If you would like to see who they are and what they’re up to, follow us.

Our vision is simple: we plant things.  Since day one of traveling for us, if we have seen a need we can do something about, we have tried to fill it.  James 2: 15-17 says, “15 If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food 16 and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,’ but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way faith, if it doesn’t have works, is dead by itself.”  For now, God has us planting things: orphanages, churches, missionaries.  If you know of a need or feel called to go fill one, check out our Go with Us section for available opportunities or possibly to give us our next adventure. If you can’t go but want to help further the mission, then you can Partner with Us.

The Cadence Cottage

When God told us to leave everything and go, we went.  He taught us to find security in only Him, and we continue to go. Matthew 6: 19-21, 25, 33 “‘Don’t collect for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But collect for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don’t break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also…. This is why I tell you: Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing?…..  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.’” (HCSB)

As we continue through the process of sanctification ourselves, we are commissioned to disciple and help others come to know God. Matthew 28: 18-20 “Then Jesus came near and said to them, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” Acts 2: 42, 46 “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers….” (HCSB)

For it is not enough to merely know God and hold Him near to us, but we are to share our testimonies of His greatness with the world and encourage others to do the same. 2 Timothy 4: 1-2, 11-12, 17 “I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge the living and the dead, and because of His appearing and His kingdom: Proclaim the message; persist in it whether convenient or not; rebuke, correct, and encourage with great patience and teaching…. Only Luke is with me. Brink Mark with you, for he is useful to me in the ministry. I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus…. But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the proclamation might be fully made through me and all the Gentiles might hear. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.” (HCSB)

James 1: 19-25 “My dearly loved brothers, understand this: Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for man’s anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness. Therefore, ridding yourselves of all moral filth and evil, humbly receive the implanted word, which is able to save you. But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his own face in a mirror. For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but on who does good works – this person will be blessed in what he does.” (HCSB)

Go with Us

Currently, our major opportunity for service is in the Dominican Republic at the beginning of 2016.  We will need hands and feet on the ground to physically build the first Cadence Cottage.  We also welcome individuals gifted in hospitality who can help tend to the needs of the laborers.  Missions trips to the D.R. for construction will be short term – only one week long.

Cadence Please Missions also has opportunities to serve in southern Spain and/or to travel with the worship team.

If you would like to inquire more details about any of our missions outlets – including costs and duration, be specific when filling out this contact form.  We look forward to building the Kingdom together!

Partner with Us

All financial contributions made to Cadence Please Missions are completely tax deductible since we are a public charity. There are a few different ways to become a financial partner.

You may:
1) Make a one-time donation to a team or individual.
2) Make a one-time donation to a specific building project.
3) Become a monthly partner who supports a member(s) of our core team.

We survive off of many small donations from many different people. One-time donations are always welcome and help us meet our immediate needs, but we have launched a campaign to cover the monthly traveling costs of our core team of missionaries. Our “Humble Hundred” campaign seeks to find 100 committed individuals who are willing to pray and spare $20 each month. We are a small enough organization to where this goal is enough for the core team to be almost completely sustainable.

Whichever your inclination, PLEASE BE SPECIFIC when filling out the form to donate so we know exactly where to direct your money. If you do not leave a note for us, your contribution will go toward our general missions fund.

Finally, before you click on the link to donate, we would like to extend our most sincere thank you. Our biggest and most common need is for provision – for safety and finances. Without people willing to give up the time to pray for us and a few coffees a month, we simply would not be able to go where God tells us. By sharing your time and money, YOU are an avenue through which God provides. There is no such thing as a small act of faith or obedience, so we thank you.
